The Opera for the Actors-Reviisori (Revizor). Performances at Tampere Theatre Festival in 9th and 10th august.
Monk Business
Plays Thelonius Monk's music. Our basic ensemble consists of Vesa Hyrskykari or Matti Orpana saxophone-Arto Piispanen piano -Ville Rauhala bass- Juppo Paavola drums.
Uptown Players
Mainsteam-jazz. Our basic ensemble consists of Harri Jokihaara-sax, Tuomo Kinnunen-bass, Harri Lehtinen-drs, Arto Piispanen-pno
Bluestroyers
Blues-ensemble, featuring the legendary J.Leino on vocals.
We are recording our first CD and hope to release it later this year.
Pohjantahti
The famous ethno-orchestra:
After exiting Piirpauke, Saastamoinen and colleague Pekka Nylund (also ex-Piirpauke) formed the radical and influential Pohjantahti, performing the most psychedelic electric-shaman music Finland and this world have ever witnessed. Most recent output from Saastamoinen are the three shamanistic operas featuring the Pohjantahti orchestra of electric and acoustic traditional instruments, choirs and soloists: "Velho" (The Sorcerer), "Riekko" (The Snow Grouse) and "Käärme" (The Serpent). © Phillip Page 2002
